Frequently Asked Questions:
Why is there a production fee and what does it cover?
There are many costs associated with producing live professional theatre. We hire a professional director, choreographer, music director, costumer, set designer, lighting designer, sound designer, technical director, orchestration producer, scenic painter and stage technicians. We also have to pay for licensing and theatre operating costs. Your child will have the opportunity to work alongside all of these professionals as well as the professional actors! Your child will spend an average of 70 hours with us. Being in a Legacy summer production also gives your child a professional credit on their resume!
When will we hear about casting?
We will make all casting decisions by April 25th . If your child is cast, you will be notified by phone or email. If you child is not cast, you will receive an email only. Those not cast will receive a $50 discount to our summer musical theatre camp. Please do not contact the box office about casting prior to April 25th.
What goes into Legacy’s casting decisions?
We always cast by what is best for the particular production. Each show has specific types needed. We look for confidence, great stage presence, ability to sing and dance well and be a respectful and encouraging cast member. If you child is not cast, they may just need a little more experience. Our summer camp and classes are great resources for training. Please encourage your child to ALWAYS try again next audition.
How many are cast and will my child be featured with so many members in the cast?
We will cast between 15-30 (half in youth &half in teen) children per cast. We go to great lengths to make sure each child shines on stage. We strive to make sure every child is featured. Both casts will have their separate feature numbers as well as numbers with the entire cast.
